Configuring User Roles

Overview

User roles connect users with templates. For example, after creating a User and Service Template for your accounting department, you can then create a role called "Accounting." Whenever you add a user for this department, simply select the "Accounting" role in order to associate the user with the template.

NOTE: For networks that include various product interfaces for managing users and services, the Flow Through Provisioning solution allows the administrator to configure and manage users, phone and MiCollab services from a single location. See Adding Users and Services for more information.

Adding a User Role

To add a user role:

  1. Go to the User Roles form.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter a Role Name. 

  4. From the Template dropdown, do one of the following:

  1. (Optional) Enter a Note.

  2. Click Save.

Changing a User Role

To change a user role:

  1. Go to the User Roles form.

  2. Select a user role by clicking the appropriate row in the User Roles list.

  3. Click Change. A detailed User Role dialog appears.

  4. Modify the necessary field(s).

  5. Click Save.

Deleting a User Role

To delete a user role:

  1. Go to the User Roles form.

  2. Select a user role by clicking the appropriate row in the Key Templates list.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Click OK.
